The mission of the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force is to build the political power of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community from the ground up. We do this by training activists, organizing broad-based campaigns to defeat anti-LGBT referenda and advance pro-LGBT legislation, and building the organizational capacity of our movement. Our Policy Institute, the movement's premier think tank, provides research and policy analysis to support the struggle for complete equality and to counter right-wing lies. As part of a broader social justice movement, we work to create a nation that respects the diversity of human expression and identity and creates opportunity for all. Headquartered in Washington, D.C., we also have offices in New York City, Los Angeles, Miami, Minneapolis and Cambridge. The Task Force is a 501(c)(3) corporation incorporated in Washington, D.C. Contributions to the Task Force are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law. (C) 2010 National Gay and Lesbian Task Force. 1325 Massachusetts Ave NW, Suite 600, Washington, DC 20005. While you're at Winter Party, take a moment to tell someone from Winter Party that in the face off threats like the above, the circuit is far too fragile - and our public services far too valuable - for us to be risking it all in the name of politics. The largest and most influential medium for circuit information was prohibited from giving free advertising, volunteer, event hosting, news, media, and documentary donations to the festival this year, to the tune of tens of thouasnds of dollars worth of value, after a decade-long participation.

The reason? Exclusivity deal entered into with another partner.

If I understand the very basics of marketing, an exclusivity deal is counter-productive, to a CHARITY. Within reason, there should be every effort to capitalize on any avenue that would maximize the saturation of showcasing that event, to its desired audience. Politics and manipulation already infiltrate our lives enough, do we really need our public service organizations embarking down the same path? Keep the circuit fair and benevolent, the way it was created during the terrifying health crisis that left friends and family dead without warning and continues to be THE major issue for our community.

AS A PROUD WINTER PARTY PARTNER & ALSO AS A RETURNING WPF ATTENDEE WITH MANY GREAT WPF MEMORIES AND EXPERIENCES I'LL ALWAYS CHERISH, I MUST SAY:

Winter Party: Bring back JustCircuit next year, or explain how it is justified to limit the audience for potential festival attendees, under any circumstance, but even so - how the value of such a major contributor was recouped by "exclusivity" agreements, so we may better understand.
